Pinny the Voodoo Doll

Pinny has a pocket full of odd treasures she gathers from corners and forgotten shelves. She worries about being left behind at the bottom of a toy box, so she loves to be carried around, even if it’s just tucked into a pocket.

Pinny was stitched from scraps of moonlight and bits of forgotten fabric. Her pockets appeared before her name, small, uneven things that somehow hold all her secrets. She collects trinkets no one remembers losing: a marble that hums when it rains, a thimble with no needle, a single earring that misses its twin.

But for all her treasures, Pinny has one small fear - being forgotten. She worries that one day her pockets will be empty, that the people she keeps safe will grow up and stop leaving her little things to find. So she fills the quiet by collecting buttons, ribbons, and the stories people drop when they think no one’s listening.

When the house sleeps, Pinny tidies dreams. She pins the good ones closer to your heart so you’ll keep them, and traps the bad ones in her pockets where they can’t reach you.

About Her Fear
Pinny’s fear of being forgotten is something many of us understand that quiet worry of fading into the background when life moves on. But she reminds us that love is stored in the smallest things: the notes we keep, the buttons we save, and the memories we stitch into the people we care for.

How Pinny Was Made

Each Pinny doll begins as a sketch, drawn in pencil by Yasemin and often coloured in by Alexa. The fabric is hand-cut, hand-painted, and stitched slowly, one seam at a time.

Every detail is personal: the shade of paint, the shape of her pockets, even the direction of her stitches. Her face is painted freehand, no two Pinnies will ever be quite the same.

Caring for Your Pinny

Pinny likes calm spaces and soft light.

  • Keep her dry & out of direct sunlight.

  • Surface clean gently with a dry cloth.

  • Not suitable for play or young children.

She’s happiest perched somewhere she can watch over you — by a sewing box, bookshelf, or bedside table.

A Note from Yasemin

When I first stitched Pinny, her pockets came out wonky. But then I realised — that’s where the magic lives. Imperfection is her charm. Every uneven seam tells a story.

— Yasemin 🪡

Pinny isn’t just a doll. She’s a quiet companion for pockets, shelves and small hands. She keeps watch, listens without judgement and carries the things we don’t want to lose.

If Pinny feels like she belongs with you, you can find her here.
